Australia’s first dedicated first-aid service for pets – Doggy and Moggy First Aid for Pets – has been launched and management says it already is experiencing high demand for classes.

Managing director Stephanie Travers said pet owners should know how to treat cuts and bites and also could learn to save a pet’s life using CPR.

“Like me, many people regard their dogs and cats as a part of the family and knowing what to do in an emergency situation is critical,” Travers said.

Doggy and Moggy First Aid will hold classes in Frankston, Victoria from September 2011.
