As part of a global push to encourage First Aiders ‘in the home’ as well as at work, The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) says it trained 78,200 participants for first aid, had 79,351 basic life support trainees and 553 people joined its accident prevention course last year.
PRC chairman Richard Gordon said: “First aid is a core activity for the PRC and we are happy to note that there is a steady increase in the number of volunteer First Aiders providing services and training to others.”
He added that the objective of the PRC is “to have a First Aider in every home” whether trained at work or via other courses.
